Stress Management Strategies for Dementia Caregivers
co-hosted by PCV and Assisting Hands Potomac
Tips and strategies to help manage life as an older adult caregiver for a loved one with Dementia, presented by Steve Lorberbaum, board member of PCV, owner of Assisting Hands Potomac.
Caring for a senior loved one with dementia is both an act of love and an enormous responsibility. While it can be deeply rewarding, it often comes with significant emotional, mental, and physical challenges. Learning to manage stress effectively is crucial to maintaining your wellbeing and continuing to provide high-quality care.
As the owner of Assisting Hands Potomac, Steve is dedicated to providing families and their loved ones with exceptional caregiving services and educational programs that help families figure out their plan. It’s about getting to know each family personally and then providing a solution that works. According to Steve, “we get calls from families looking for information and education. People are often in a crisis situation. They need someone to help them understand their options. Sometimes, we are a temporary bridge to a longer-term living solution. At other times, we become the long-term solution to help someone remain comfortably at home. It depends on the family and their particular needs. Our purpose is to counsel families and match personalities and needs with a caring professional to help a loved one wherever home is at the moment. We’re there when family can’t be.”
