Encounters with Beethoven
In honor of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven, Ken Meltzer will present our program on this well-known musician.Ken is currently the Program Annotator for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and previously, served in the same capacity for the Pittsburgh Symphony. Ken will talk about Beethoven’s talents as a composer and his rebellion against the social and musical conventions of his time. He will highlight Beethoven’s iconic 5th Symphony and will discuss what makes this piece of music so unique and powerful.
