Every year, on the fourth Saturday of April, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy promotes a celebration of the nation’s trails. This year, the C&O Canal Trust is partnering with Rails-to-Trails Conservancy to offer a guided walk focusing on the natural resources of the C&O Canal National Historical Park (NHP) on April 27, 2024. Topics will include Invasive Plant Management; Rare, Threatened, and Endangered Plants; and native plants that exist in the Park.
Join the Trust for a guided walk on the towpath to explore some of the Park’s natural and unique flora and fauna and celebrate this incredible resource with us! Led by C&O Canal Trust President & CEO, the walk will start at Rileys Lock and travel upriver to Violettes Lock and back. It will include an opportunity for a Q&A about the Park’s program to support RTE and native plants.
