Potomac Area Neighbors (PANC) is offering a virtual Italian cooking lesson by cookbook author and instructor, Micol Negrin. There is a $40 fee. To register, to learn more, email PANC at

The class instructor, Micol Negrin, is the author of three cookbooks, the James Beard-nominated Rustico:Regional Italian Country Cooking and The Italian Grill,both published by Clarkson Potter, and The Best Pasta Sauces: FavoriteRegional Italian Recipes, released by Ballantine Books, a division of Random House
In 2004, Micol (with spouse Dino's help) opened a large, state-of-the-art cooking school on West 39th street in Manhattan and launched cooking tours to Italy. After operating the cooking school for 15 years they closed it in January and began to devote their time to leading cooking tours to Italy and developing their member based video cooking site which allows them to reach as many home cooks and food enthusiasts as possible.
In addition to the virtual cooking classes and they also host private cooking events at Degustibus Cooking School at Macy's in NYC.
Your fee entitles you to access to a private portal designed just for participants of this class www.RusticoCooking.com On the portal you will find cooking techniques, a list of ingredients for the class, videos and more. The lesson will be recorded and appear on the portal for future reference.
On the day of the class you can either cook along with Micol or just watch the demo. The menu will include:
- Gnocchi with mushroom sauce (handmade potato gnocchi)
- Sea Bass with artichokes and lemon (chicken or tofu can be substituted)
- Cannoli Ricotta - Cheese Cake
