An evening with Norm Augustine on the future of space travel and its importance to our nation’s future
Potomac Community Village is honored to welcome Norm Augustine to speak to us about the future of space travel and its importance to our nation’s future.
Mr. Augustine served as Chairman and CEO of Lockheed Martin Corporation and Martin Marietta Corporation, as well as Under Secretary of the Army. Last month, Mr. Augustine was the lead author of the report “NASA at a Crossroads,” submitted to Congress at the request of a Presidential Commission.
Join us as he walks us through a stimulating evening of discussion as he reveals the latest predictions for the future of space travel and what it takes for us to get there.
America in Space: Past, Present and Future is part of Potomac Community Village’s monthly speakers series. It is free and open to the public. Registration is strongly encouraged.
A note on "NASA at a Crossroads" - According to the report, NASA is not focused enough on the future, fails to think stratgegically and has a mismatch between its ambitions and its budget. Here is some background on the recent report, as reported in the Washington Post.
All are welcome to attend this free and open to all program at the Potomac Community Center.
Members who need transportation to attend this program should indicate that they need a ride when they register for this event. If you are able to offer a ride, please let us know about that as well.
A note on donations: Admission to this program is free, but we welcome your support of PCV with a donation at any level to help us continue to offer free programs and events to our wider community. Thanks.
