Bird Walk: A Film Screening & Panel Discussion
In celebration of Birdability Week, Montgomery Parks will host a free public screening of the new 25-minute documentary “Bird Walk”, produced by filmmaker Cintia Cabib, on Tuesday, October 22 at 11 AM at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, Maryland.
Discover how a defunct golf course in Rockville, Maryland has become an avian oasis and learn about the grassroots campaign that helped preserve the 131-acre site as a public park.
Following the screening, producer Cintia Cabib will moderate a panel discussion with Genevieve Wall, Senior Naturalist at Nature Forward, Jill Deppe, Senior Director, Migratory Bird Initiative at the National Audubon Society, and Suzanne Shoemaker, Executive Director and Founder of Owl Moon Raptor Center.
RSVPs are a must. Please register here.
A number of PCV members, many from the PCV Green Group, will be going to this event. If you want to join them, please contact Lynette at [email protected], and she will make connections for possible car-pooling. PCV will not be offering transportation.
