The filmmakers will screen a rough-cut of their film, followed by an opportunity to ask questions and to offer your comments. Celebrate our great nation's principle of the Freedom of Religion.
The Washington Capital Area transformed from a small English town with a few Protestant churches to a flourishing metropolis with 170 different ethnic groups and almost 800 places of worship since its founding. And as the population spread into the suburbs, Montgomery County also became a showcase for religious, ethnic and architectural diversity, Here, almost a third of the residents are foreign-born and about 40 languages are spoken. The places of worship along New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring display this amazing diversity - Ukrainian churches, A Muslim mosque and community center, a Buddhist temple, a Vietnamese Catholic church and a Hindu Temple. Local filmmakers explore these religious sites.
