Death Cafe, a guided discussion about options when it comes to death and dying, on Zoom

This special program is for members only

PCV offers a monthly Death Café discussion series on Zoom, as we explore a national movement that encourges conversations about death.  The goal is to help participants understand the importance of learning about options when it comes to death and dying, and dealing with questions that often arise, in advance.

Death Café does not provide counseling or grief support but is a gathering where thoughtful discussion can take place.

Our guest this month will  be Gigi Elizee who will speak to us about what happens when a spouse/partner dies and you want to move to where you'll be supported down the road.

Our discussion leader is Patricia Dubroof, who has been leading these discussions in Montgomery County for the past 3 years with Assisting Hands of Potomac and Pump House Village.

To learn more, please read what one of our members has to say about Death Cafe:

I have attended several sessions of the Death Café, which is an international movement. Despite the unpleasant name of the group, I learn useful information at every meeting. The group provides a healthy way to talk about death. We often have speakers provide us with expert information on topics that may be important to us. For example, at our last meeting, we had a doctor, who now works as a doula, discuss the new movement to have end-of-life doulas. These doulas provide support to persons with fatal conditions and their families during the difficult time before death. Similar to birth doulas, death doulas offer physical and emotional support. I encourage you to consider joining our group. You may be surprised at how helpful information on a variety of topics related to end of life can be.

Please register for this event using the red Register box above to join us on Zoom.

New participants are always welcome.

Thank you to Assisting Hands Home Care of Potomac for sponsoring this ongoing program.
