PCV's Monthly Speaker Series: From Sleeping Beauty to Rip Van Winkle: Give us sleep

In this talk, with sleep expert Linda Berg-Cross, we will address the following questions:

  • What do I really need to know about sleep?  (top 10 things you may not know)
  • Why do I have insomnia?
  • What do sleep therapists actually do?
  • Are power naps really powerful or harmful?
  • Are sleep medications a good long term solution?
  • What are the strangest sleep disorders and do I have any of them? (narcolepsy, sleep walking, exploding head syndrome, sleep paralysis, REM sleep behavior disorder)

Afterwards, attendees will share first hand snooze wisdom.

About our speaker: Dr. Linda Berg-Cross is a Professor Emeritus from Howard University’s Psychology Department.  Her research has focused on family interactions and her sleep research, in particular, has focused on how family dynamics affect sleep and visa versa. She lives in Potomac and has a small private practice.  Her passions include reading short stories, traveling, learning, and trying to infuse meaning and motion into every day!

Registration is  strongly suggested.  All are welcome to attend this free and open-to-all talk.
