"OUR EARTH" Book Discussion Club
Come, share your ideas and learn more about environmental topics in this space for thoughtful exchange, around fiction and non-fiction books.
Starting from a common base to have real discussions about the environment, this book discussion club is a great way to deepen ideas, have respectful debates while listening to the points of view of others and broaden our understanding and vision on this important topic. Together, we may discover new forms of commitment and imagine new sustainable and desirable horizons.
This month's book is Climate Restoration: The Only Future That Will Sustain the Human Race, by Peter Fiekowsky and Carole Douglis. Carole will be with us to lead the discussion!
The authors focus on removing CO2 from the atmosphere, because the Net Zero Emissions goal of the Paris Accords does not address the CO2 already in our atmosphere. The climate will be restored, say the authors, when we remove roughly a trillion tons of CO2. They describe “Big Four” climate restoration methods: Synthetic limestone, seaweed permaculture, ocean iron fertilization, and acceleration of natural methane oxidation.
A limited number of copies will be available at the Check Out Desk.
